The Flux Emergence Workshop 2023 will be held during 5-9 June 2023, at the island of Santorini, Greece. 

The main aim of the workshop is to bring together scientists who are interested in the process of magnetic flux emergence in the Sun and related topics. The emergence of magnetic flux from the solar convection zone to the upper atmosphere plays an important role on the Sun, producing active regions and driving explosive events such as jets, flares, and CMEs. The FEW series started in 2007 with the aim of fostering discussion and collaboration among the scientists who are interested in the topics related to flux emergence. 

 

The scientific program of the workshop will include the following main topics:

• Dynamo and emerging flux in the convection zone
• Flux emergence in the quiet/active Sun
• Formation of Active Regions
• Flux emergence and explosive events (jets, flares, CMEs, etc.)

 

The number of participants will be limited to about 50. As in the previous FEWs, the participation in the workshop is mainly by invitation.
