SUMMARY:Paros Epilepsy: "Direct Cortical Stimulation during SEEG"
DESCRIPTION:Welcome words\nDear Colleagues and Friends\, \nFollowing the very successful first edition of the Paros meeting on anatomo-clinical correlations in epilepsy surgery\, we are delighted to announce the second edition\, which will take place in May 11-15\, 2026. \nThis new edition will focus on SEEG-based direct electrical brain stimulation\, aiming to create a comprehensive and complementary reference resource for the global epilepsy community in the years to come. To achieve this\, 50 internationally renowned experts from leading epilepsy centers across 20 countries and 5 continents will contribute to this unique initiative. \nIt is jointly supported by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE)\, EpiCARE\, and the educational journal Epileptic Disorders\, which will publish the resulting systematic reviews. The first edition in 2024 attracted close to 350 registered participants\, both in-person and online\, from 35 countries. \nThis event offers an exceptional opportunity to engage with the international epilepsy community and brings together leading experts for five days of high-level scientific exchange in a truly exceptional setting—the magnificent island of Paros\, in the Greek Cyclades. Once again\, this meeting is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Greek League Against Epilepsy.
